Our Story
Fraser Environmental Consultancy was founded by Dr. Husam El-Alqamy, an internationally recognized ecologist and Registered Professional Biologist (RPBio) with over 25 years of experience across some of the world's most demanding environments — from the desert mountains of Sinai and the dunes of the Western Sahara, to the wetlands of Abu Dhabi and the forests of British Columbia.
Dr. El-Alqamy's vision was simple: bring rigorous, field-tested science to environmental consulting in BC and beyond. His career includes leading the Arabian Oryx reintroduction program in Abu Dhabi, authoring the UNEP GEO-6 West Asia Regional Assessment, serving as GIS Analyst with the BC Ministry of Forests, and designing the zoning plan for the King Salman Royal Reserve in Saudi Arabia.
Today, we work with organizations across multiple sectors — from government agencies and conservation authorities to private developers and international NGOs — helping them navigate complex environmental challenges while maintaining their commitment to responsible development.
Our approach is grounded in science and shaped by decades of real fieldwork. Whether conducting wildlife surveys in remote desert oases or delivering GIS-driven conservation plans, we bring the same commitment: evidence-based solutions that make a measurable difference.
